Data Protection Act 2018 / GDPR

The Data Protection Act 2018 came into force May 2018 and updates and enhances the previous DPA 1998.

At its heart lie seven principles with the final principle being that of accountability.

This means that enterprises large and small must demonstrate that adequate data protection governance arrangements are in place. This requirement enhances the previous DPA, making the accountability issue a requirement.

Thamer James Limited has worked with numerous SME organisations to assist them with their preparedness for the Data Protection Act 2018. At the heart of our work is a structured ‘on-site’ survey. This examines your organisation’s approach towards compliance and areas requiring attention. We submit a formal report with a suggested plan of action.

We can assist your organisation with partial or full implementation. We retain a qualified data protection analyst and our consultants hold BCS (British Computer Society) qualifications in Data Protection 2018.
