ISO 42001 requires that an organisation should establish and record details relating to the acquisition of data used within the AI development programme.
Different categories of data can be used from differing sources this can depend upon the application of the AI system in use.
As such consideration should be given to:
- Categories of data needed for the AI system
- Quality of data
- Quantities of data
- Data sources, e.g. acquired through approved suppliers, partner supplied, open source or synthetic
- Data features such as, streamed, static, gathered or machine created
- Details on data subject background and associated biases that need balancing within the AI design
- Previous handling of data and any known corruption issues
- Data rights, refer to ISO 27701 for further information
- Meta data issues, details of data labelling and improvement
